American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior Season 1 Episode 16

American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior Season 1 Episode 16 can be watched on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 9:00pm EST on The Discovery Channel.
Title of the brand new episode is: Fired. Synopsis of the episode is: Junior fires Odie for back talking him and turns to Senior for counsel; unveiling for Universal Property Insurance.

American Chopper is a reality television series that airs on The Learning Channel (TLC), produced by Pilgrim Films & Television. The series centers on Paul Teutul, Sr. and his son Paul Teutul, Jr. (also known as Paulie or simply Junior), who manufacture custom motorcycles. Orange County Choppers is in Newburgh, New York. The contrasting attitudes of the two men and their propensity for sulking often lead to fiery, but humorous, exchanges as they meet unusually short deadlines for building distinctive custom choppers.
Originally a Discovery Channel show which began in March 2003, in December 2007 the series moved to Discovery's sister channel TLC, starting off with an 18-hour marathon. Its first TLC season premiered in January 2008. Season 6 began in April 2009. After canceling the series in February 2010, TLC announced that the Teutuls would return in a new series, American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior.
The OCC fabricators and mechanics such as Paul Teutul, Jr., Rick Petko, Nick Hansford, Christian Welter, and former employees Vincent DiMartino (who left OCC to start V-Force Customs in 2007), and Cody Connelly (a BOCES student intern who has since joined DiMartino's business), to create dozens of custom motorbikes. Paul Sr. supervises the builds by telling people what they are doing wrong. Michael Teutul, usually referred to as "Mikey", serves as the shop's custodian and webmaster, and provides comic relief to the show. He has been seen doing metal work occasionally, as one of his early jobs was working at Orange County Ironworks. Also featured occasionally is Danny Teutul, the second oldest child, who succeeded Paul Sr. as the owner of Orange County Ironworks. Danny visits to do contracted work for the OCC facilities. The show also documents their personal and promotional activities ranging from magazine photo shoots to family holidays and custom bike shows.
Following regular disagreements with his father, Paul Jr. was fired from the shop in late 2008. In January 2009, TLC served a notice of default due to Paul Jr.'s absence. Paul Jr. then returned to OCC briefly as a contractor, but left finally in April 2009 in order to start his own design firm, Paul Jr. Designs. Paul Sr. then exercised a contractual option to purchase Paul Jr.'s 20% share in OCC, and subsequently filed a lawsuit to force the buyout. The case remains ongoing while a valuation of OCC is performed.
On December 14, 2010, Paul Jr. won his appeal of a lower court ruling forcing him to sell his 20% ownership of OCC to Paul Sr. Jr's appeal asked that the agreement to sell be ruled invalid, so Jr will continue to own 20% of OCC until a fair selling price is agreed to. Jr has also filed a counter-suit laying out massive fraud on Sr's part in dealing with Jr's interests at OCC. The suit seeks $10,000,000 in damages along with court ordered controls over the company's finances to prevent further fraud.
After a one year non-compete clause ended, Paul Jr. opened a motorcycle shop in April 2010. TLC then commissioned a 7th series titled American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior which features both OCC and Paul Jr. Designs.
OCC is the defendant in a legal action filed by artist Justin Barnes, who alleges that his original designs were copied on merchandise without his permission and appropriate compensation.
Due to its popularity during the first seasons, American Chopper inspired two video game titles. The first was American Chopper by Activision Value, released for the PlayStation 2, PC and Xbox. The second, American Chopper 2: Full Throttle by Creat Studios was released for the Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox.
A video pinball arcade game made by Incredible Technologies, Inc. reached on-site play testing but was never released.
During 2005, Discovery Channel sponsored a contest in which four winners received OCC motorcycles. Custom bike features were specified by the winning fans, who sent in videos expressing their reasons for wanting a bike. The contest winners were (in episode order): Jeff Clegg (Corporal Punishment), Susan Morisset (Female Snake Bike), Joseph McClendon (Custom Hog), Bryan King (Vertebrate Trike).
On February 6, 2010, TLC announced that American Chopper's season finale scheduled for February 11 would also mark the end of the series, stating, "The Teutuls will always be a part of the Discovery family and we congratulate them on a tremendously successful series run." On April 7, however, TLC announced the Teutuls would return for a new series.
The new American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior chronicles the aftermath of Paul Jr.'s departure from OCC and his construction of a new custom chopper shop across the street from younger brother Dan's Orange County Iron Works. It premiered August 12, 2010. In December 2010, in the United States, the series returned to the Discovery Channel, the network it originally debuted on.
In Canada, however, American Chopper has started on January 8 on TLC and has moved to Saturday nights at 10 p.m., but has not debuted the new season 8 episodes yet.
On February 7, 2011, Paul Teutul, Jr. announced that American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior had been renewed for a second season and will return spring 2011.

Bones Season 6 Episode 13

Title of the brand new episode is: The Daredevil in the Mold. Synopsis of the episode is: A BMX rider's remains are discovered on the roof of a warehouse; Sweets asks Booth for advice; Booth plans a grand gesture to demonstrate his commitment to Hannah.
Bones is an American crime drama television series that premiered on the Fox Network on September 13, 2005. The show is based on forensic anthropology and archaeology, with each episode focusing on an FBI case file concerning the mystery behind human remains brought by FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) to the forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel). The rest of the cast includes Michaela Conlin, T. J. Thyne, Eric Millegan, Tamara Taylor and John Francis Daley. Created by Hart Hanson, the series is very loosely based on the life of forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs, who also produces the show. Its title character, Temperance Brennan, is named after the protagonist of Reichs' crime novel series. Bones is a joint production by Josephson Entertainment, Far Field Productions and 20th Century Fox Television.
The series has been renewed for a sixth season which will premiere September 23, 2010.
The show begins in 2005, and tells the story of a series of case files, solved weekly, by the unlikely alliance of Temperance "Bones" Brennan's forensic anthropology team at the Jeffersonian Institute (a thinly veiled allusion to the Smithsonian Institution) and FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth. By examining the human remains of the murder victims, Dr. Brennan and her team provide scientific expertise and an outsider's perspective to the world of criminal investigation to the FBI. In addition to the murder cases featured in each episode, the series explores the backgrounds and relationships of the major characters including the developing friendship and possibly romantic relationship between Brennan and Booth. The series has dark comedic undertones.
The concept of Bones was developed during the latter part of the pitching season of 2004 when 20th Century Fox approached series creator Hart Hanson with an idea for a forensics show. Hanson was asked to meet with executive producer Barry Josephson, who had purchased the rights to produce a documentary on the forensic anthropologist and author Kathy Reichs. Although Hanson was reluctant about being involved in making a police procedural, he signed on and wrote the pilot episode after having an intensive meeting with Josephson about the show. As the show is based on the works of Reichs, the writers constantly involve her in the process of producing the episodes' storylines.
In order to make Bones a unique crime drama in the midst of the multiple procedural dramas that already populated network television like the Law & Order and CSI franchises, Hanson decided to infuse the show with as much dark humor and character development as possible. Another element conceived for the show was the "Angelator", a holographic projector whose use is to replace flashbacks that are often used by other procedural shows. In addition to their expositional purposes, the holographic images, which are created by visual effects, brought a unique visual style to the show that the producers were looking for.

Nikita Season 1 Episode 14

Nikita Season 1 Episode 14

Nikita Season 1 Episode 14 can be watched on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 9:00pm EST on WPIX (CW).
Title of the brand new episode is:The Next Seduction. Synopsis of the episode is: Nikita reluctantly assumes a past alter ego to stop a dangerous new weapon from coming into the U.S.; Alex's new life is interfered with.
Nikita is an American television drama for The CW Television Network. It is based on the 1990 French film Nikita, 1993 remake Point of No Return, and the 1997 television series La Femme Nikita. It premiered on September 9, 2010, and currently airs on Thursdays at 9:00 pm Eastern/8:00 pm Central Time in the United States.
The series stars Maggie Q as Nikita, a spy and assassin who has gone rogue. She is now working to bring down Division, the secret government agency which recruited her. Meanwhile, Division trains its next crop of young killers.
The story centers on a secret organization known as Division. Targeting young people from a troubled background, Division erases all evidence of their past lives and molds them into efficient spies and assassins. Nikita is the first recruit to escape and promises to bring down her former employers.Having trained Nikita, Michael, a Division operative, is ordered by his boss Percy to deal with his former student. In the meantime, Division continues training its recruits, Thom, Jaden, and the newest, Alex.
The CW had long been interested in an action-adventure series centered on a strong female character.[5] On January 27, 2010, The CW ordered a pilot episode of Nikita. In February, Maggie Q was cast as Nikita, with Shane West as Michael. In March, Lyndsy Fonseca was given the role of Alex. On May 18, 2010, Nikita was officially ordered to series for a fall premiere. The 2010 television series is more closely tied to Luc Besson's 1990 French film Nikita than the 1997 television series, La Femme Nikita.
Executive producer Craig Silverstein was approached by Warner Bros. who owned the rights. Silverstein said, "My first thought was I love Nikita. My second thought was, 'it's been done.' Could it be done fresh? Could we have a take where you didn't know where this story would end?" As a result, two major changes have been made, one of which is the decision to have the story take place after Nikita has escaped. Maggie Q stated, "No one's told her story after the fact. No one knows where she is going." In addition, a new character, Alex, was introduced who has an unexpected backstory. The series will be a mix of a weekly mission/counter-mission, and a story arc running through the first season that explores Nikita's relationships with Alex and Michael.
Silverstein describes the story as a "dark fairytale. This girl is taken from one life, her identity is erased, she’s put in another life and she’s transformed. It’s like Alice in Wonderland. She’s told, “Eat this, drink that, steal this, kill that,” and she’s not told why. And, she begins to find her own identity through that."

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Season 11 Episode 14

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Season 11 Episode 14 can be watched on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 9:00pm EST on WCBS (CBS) TV channel.
Title of the brand new episode is: All That Cremains. Synopsis of the episode is: A dead body is found in a box donated to a thrift store; Langston's wife visits the crime lab.
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (also known as CSI: Las Vegas) is an American crime drama television series, which premiered on CBS on October 6, 2000. The show was created by Anthony E. Zuiker and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. It is filmed primarily at Universal Studios in Universal City, California.
The series follows Las Vegas criminalists as they use physical evidence to solve grisly murders in this unusually graphic drama, which has inspired a host of other cop-show "procedurals". An immediate ratings smash for CBS, the series mixes deduction, gritty subject matter and popular characters. The network quickly capitalized on its hit with spin-offs CSI: Miami and CSI: NY.
CSI was renewed for an eleventh season on May 19, 2010. It has been confirmed that the upcoming eleventh season will be Marg Helgenberger's last. Helgenberger, who portrays Catherine Willows, will only be in 19 episodes of the upcoming season. Helgenberger has been with the series since the pilot in October 2000.
CSI has been recognized as the most popular dramatic series internationally by the Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo, which has awarded it the "International Television Audience Award (Best Television Drama Series)" three times. CSI's worldwide audience was estimated to be over 73.8 million viewers in 2009.
CSI's popularity has led to the creation of websites, online discussion forums and a large amount of fan-made art.
On September 27, 2007, after CSI's season eight premiered, a miniature model of character Gil Grissom's office (which he was seen building during season seven) was put up on eBay. The auction ended October 7, with the prop being sold for $15,600; CBS donated the proceeds to the National CASA Association.
A grassroots campaign started on August 2007, upon rumors of Jorja Fox leaving the show, organized by the online forum Your Tax Dollars At Work. Many of its nineteen thousand members donated to the cause, collecting over $8,000 for gifts and stunts targeted at CBS executives and CSI's producers and writers. Some of the stunts included a wedding cake delivery to Carol Mendelsohn, 192 chocolate-covered insects with the message "CSI Without Sara Bugs Us." to Naren Shankar and a plane flying several times over the Universal Studios of Los Angeles with a "Follow the evidence keep Jorja Fox on CSI" banner. Other protests included mailing the show's producers a dollar, so as to save Fox's contract "one dollar at a time". By October 16, 2007 according to the site's tally, more than 20,000 letters with money or flyers had been mailed to the Universal Studios and to CBS headquarters in New York from forty-nine different countries since the campaign started on September 29, 2007. Fox and Mendelsohn chose to donate the money to CASA, a national association that supports and promotes court-appointed advocates for abused or neglected children.
CSI has often been criticized for the level and explicitness of graphic violence, images, and sexual content. The CSI series and its spin-off shows have been accused of pushing the boundary of what is considered acceptable viewing for primetime network television. The series had numerous episodes on sexual fetishism and other forms of sexual pleasure (see especially the recurring character of Lady Heather, a professional dominatrix). CSI has been ranked as among the worst prime-time shows for family viewing by the Parents Television Council nearly every season since its second, being ranked the worst show for family prime-time viewing after the 2002–2003 and 2005–2006 seasons. The PTC has also targeted certain CSI episodes for its weekly "Worst TV Show of the Week" feature. In addition, the episode "King Baby" aired in February 2005, which the PTC named the most offensive TV show of the week, also led the PTC to start a campaign to file complaints with the FCC with the episode; to date, nearly 13,000 PTC members complained to the Federal Communications Commission about the episode. The PTC has also asked Clorox to pull their advertisements from CSI and CSI: Miami because of the graphically violent content on those programs.

The Mentalist Season 3 Episode 14

The Mentalist Season 3 Episode 14 can be watched on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 10:00pm EST on WCBS (CBS) TV channel.
Title of the brand new episode is: Blood for Blood. Synopsis of the episode is: Van Pelt's actions come into question when the witness she is assigned to protect is murdered.
The Mentalist is an American police procedural television series which debuted on September 23, 2008, on CBS. The show was created by Bruno Heller who is also the executive producer. It follows the story of Patrick Jane, who, as a paid consultant, aids the California Bureau of Investigation in homicide investigations with unorthodox methods.
On May 19, 2010, CBS announced that The Mentalist had been renewed for a third season. The third season premiere will air September 23, 2010.
The Mentalist follows Simon Baker as Patrick Jane, an independent consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI) based in Sacramento, California. Although not an officer of the law of any sort, he uses skills and knowledge from his former career as a successful psychic medium (which was a ruse, as he does not believe anyone actually has psychic abilities) to help a team of CBI agents solve various crimes, with the hope of one day bringing the murderer of his wife and daughter to justice.
Patrick Jane formerly had a lucrative career as a con man successfully posing as a psychic medium and enjoying near-celebrity status. He appeared on television to claim that his paranormal abilities helped the police profile a serial killer named Red John. Red John, angered by the perceived slight, murdered Jane's wife and young daughter in revenge. Riddled with remorse, Jane consequently abandoned his career as a psychic and teamed up with the CBI, using his skills to help them solve various crimes. His main focus is on the cases involving Red John or Red John copycats. He admits to faking the supernatural aspects of his skills, often asserting that "there's no such thing as psychics", yet he has finely honed skills in cold reading, hypnotism, and pickpocketing, as well as powerful observational skill and a deep insight into the human psyche and behavior. These skills come in handy in every episode, and his unorthodox and bizarre techniques to solve crimes sometimes offend the team of agents he works with. They often involve elaborate ruses and mind games to trick the culprit into confessing.

An aerospace engineer, non-PhD, (Howard Wolowitz) and a particle astrophysicist (Rajesh Koothrappali) are their equally geeky and socially awkward co-workers and friends.
The show is produced by Warner Bros. Television and Chuck Lorre Productions. In August 2009, the sitcom won the best comedy series TCA award and Jim Parsons won the award for individual achievement in comedy. In 2010, the show won the People's Choice Award for Favorite Comedy, while Parsons won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
When the third season premiered on September 21, 2009, it ranked as CBS's highest-rated show of that evening in the adults 18–49 demographic (4.6/10), along with a then series-high 12.83 million viewers. On May 19, 2010, it was announced that CBS would be moving the show to Thursdays at 8:00 ET for the 2010–2011 schedule. The season premiere aired on September 23, 2010.
For the first 3 seasons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, and Jim Parsons, the three main stars of the show, received at most $60,000 per episode. The salary for the three went up to $200,000 per episode for the fourth season. According to their contracts, their pay will go up an additional $50,000 per episode every year culminating in $350,000 per episode in the seventh season.

Title of the brand new episode is: P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing). Synopsis of the episode is: Meredith and Lexie's father returns to Seattle Grace with stomach pains and a new girlfriend; Alex butts heads with the new OB; Mark bribes Jackson for information on Lexie.
Grey's Anatomy is an American medical drama television series that follows the lives of interns, residents and their mentors in the fictional Seattle Grace-Mercy West Hospital in Seattle, Washington. The pilot episode, "A Hard Day's Night" premiered on March 27, 2005 on ABC. Since then, six seasons have aired. The show has been renewed for a seventh season. Season seven will begin airing on September 23, 2010.
The show has attained commercial success and critical acclaim. Initially airing as a midseason replacement for the legal drama Boston Legal, it gained high viewership, with the first episode watched by 16.25 million viewers, and the first season finale attracting 22.22 million viewers. Winner of three Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards, the show is one of the most watched prime time television series. Grey's Anatomy has been nominated for 36 Primetime Emmy awards, 11 Golden Globe awards, and 1 Grammy award.
The title Grey's Anatomy was devised as an amalgam of Henry Gray's medical textbook Gray's Anatomy, and the name of lead character Meredith Grey. Prior to broadcast, it was announced that the show's title would be changed to Complications, although this ultimately did not happen.
Fisher Plaza, which is the headquarters building for the media company Fisher Communications and Fisher's ABC affiliated KOMO radio and television stations for Seattle, is used for some exterior shots of Seattle Grace Hospital, such as air ambulances landing on the KOMO-TV newscopter's helipad. This puts Seattle Grace conveniently close to the Space Needle, the Seattle Monorail, and other local landmarks. However, the hospital used for most other exterior and many interior shots is not in Seattle; these scenes are shot at the VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center in North Hills, California.
Mark Lawson of The Guardian has credited Grey's Anatomy with popularizing the "songtage", or musical montage segments. The series' first episode featured The Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night". Emilíana Torrini wrote an original piece for an episode, while other artists including Taylor Swift have given Grey's Anatomy exclusive rights to the first play of a track from a new album. Sales of The Fray's "How to Save a Life" grew by nearly 300% after the track was used in Grey's Anatomy, while digital downloads of Lenka's "Trouble Is a Friend" similarly rose after it featured on the show. The American profile of Irish band Snow Patrol increased after their single "Chasing Cars" was used in Grey's Anatomy. Lead singer Gary Lightbody was not a fan of the series, and was initially uncertain about licensing a song for the soundtrack, but has since conceded that the publicity had a positive effect.

The series follows the life of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), who falls for a century-old vampire named Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). The first season was filmed in August 2009 in a summer share in Seaside Heights but was also filmed in other towns such as Toms River, Neptune and Atlantic City, New Jersey. The show debuted amid large amounts of controversy regarding the use of the words "Guido/Guidette", portrayals of Italian-American stereotypes and scrutiny from locals because the cast members were not residents of the area. The theme song featured in the opening credits is "Get Crazy" by LMFAO.
Following the success of the first season, MTV announced in January 2010 that a second season consisting of 12 episodes had been ordered and would air that summer. Fairly Legal (formerly known as Facing Kate) is a USA Network television series starring Sarah Shahi, Michael Trucco, Baron Vaughn, and Virginia Williams. The one-hour drama premiered on January 20, 2011.
Kate Reed changes her profession from lawyer to mediator and works at the San Francisco law firm her father started. Kate's father has recently died leaving Kate and the firm to adjust to the loss.
Fairly Legal first appeared on the development slate for USA Network in August 2009, under the working title Facing Kate. The series was created and written by Michael Sardo, who also serves as an executive producer. Casting announcements began in late October, when Sarah Shahi was cast in the main role of Kate Reed. Michael Trucco and Virginia Williams joined the cast in early November.
The 75-minute pilot episode was directed by Bronwen Hughes. The series was given the green-light for a first season on March 15, 2010 with an additional 11-episode order. Production began in June in Vancouver. In September, the total number of episodes was cut from twelve to ten due to scheduling issues.
Fairly Legal attracted 3.9 million viewers upon first airing, with approximately one-third of viewers being in the key 18-49 ratings demographic. The episode lost about 500,000 viewers from its lead-in, the mid-season debut of the medical drama Royal Pains.
Writing for Entertainment Weekly, Darren Franich noted the similarity in formula of Fairly Legal to other successful USA Network series and described the show as "a perfectly prefabricated USA treat". He lauded Shahi's performance as Kate, saying she "makes you believe that the woman is simultaneously an anxious wreck and a brilliant mediator", and applauds some of the "interesting chances" the creators took. However, he took the show to task for not utilizing its San Francisco setting as well as other USA series use their locales and chided Fairly Legal for not knowing "whether it wants to be a somber drama or a zippy legal quirkfest". Robert Bianco for USA Today concurred in the assessment of Shahi's performance, calling it "instantly likable", and described the series as "a well-constructed piece of popular entertainment from a dependable provider of the same, with an easy-to-like star and an easy-to-grasp premise".

American Idol Season 10 Episode 8

American Idol Season 10 Episode 8 can be watched on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 8:00pm EST on WNYW (FOX) TV channel.
Title of the brand new episode is: Hollywood Round, Part 1. Synopsis of the episode is: The remaining contestants head to Hollywood to perform in the next stage of competition, hoping to impress judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. Ryan Seacrest presents
American Idol is a reality television competition to find new solo singing talent. Part of the Idol franchise, it was created by Simon Fuller as a spin-off from the British show Pop Idol. Debuting on June 11, 2002, as American Idol: The Search for a Superstar on the Fox network, the show has since become one of the most popular in the history of American television. As of January 2011 it is the most-watched TV series in the Nielsen ratings and is the only program to have been number one for an unprecedented six consecutive seasons, surpassing All in the Family and The Cosby Show, which were both number one for five consecutive seasons.
The program aims to discover the best singer in the country where the winner is determined by the viewers. Through telephone and SMS text voting, viewers have chosen as winners Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Kris Allen, and Lee DeWyze (listed in chronological order).
The series employs a panel of judges who critique the contestants' performances. The original three judges were Grammy Award-winning record producer and music manager Randy Jackson, Grammy Award-winning pop singer and Emmy Award-winning choreographer Paula Abdul and award-winning music executive and music manager Simon Cowell. As of January 2011 the judging panel currently consists of Jackson, singer/actress Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler. For all seasons, the show is hosted by voice-over actor and radio disc jockey Ryan Seacrest.
The show was described by rival TV executives as "the most impactful show in the history of television." It has also become a recognized springboard for launching the career of many artists as bona fide stars. As Entertainment Weekly puts it, "It's given us Kelly, Carrie, Daughtry, and J. Hud. Idol rules the reality roost because the winners of Fox's ratings juggernaut actually do go on to greatness. And Taylor Hicks? He's the exception that proves the rule."
American Idol was created based on the British show Pop Idol, which was in turn inspired by Popstars, a show TV producer Nigel Lythgoe saw in Australia and brought over to Britain. Using the idea from Popstars of employing a panel of judges to select singers in audition, and adding other elements such as telephone voting by the viewing public, which at the time was already in use in shows such as the Eurovision Song Contest, Simon Fuller then created the show Pop Idol. The show debuted in 2001 in Britain with Nigel Lythgoe as the producer and Simon Cowell as one of the judges, and was a big success with the viewing public.
Simon Fuller and Simon Cowell attempted to sell the Pop Idol format to the U.S in 2001, but the idea was met with poor response from U.S. TV networks. However, Rupert Murdoch, head of Fox's parent company, was persuaded to buy the show by his daughter Elisabeth who was a fan of the British show. The show was renamed American Idol: The Search for a Superstar, debuted in the summer of 2002, and became one of the summer hit shows that year. The show, with the personal engagement of the viewers with the contestants through voting, and the presence of the caustic-tongue judge Simon Cowell, grew into a phenomenon. By 2005 it had become the biggest show on U.S. TV, a position it then held on for six straight years. The show is currently[when?] scheduled to remain on air until 2011.
The show had originally planned on having four judges following the Pop Idol format, however only three judges had been found by the time of the audition round in the first season, namely Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell. A fourth judge, radio DJ Stryker, was originally chosen but he dropped out citing "image concerns". In the second season, New York radio personality Angie Martinez had been hired as a fourth judge but withdrew only after a few days of auditions due to not being comfortable with giving out deep criticism. The show decided to continue with the three judges format until season 8. All three original judges stayed on the judging panel for eight seasons.
In season eight, Latin Grammy Award-nominated singer–songwriter and record producer Kara DioGuardi was added as a fourth judge. Paula Abdul left the show before season nine after failing to agree terms with the show producers. Emmy Award-winning talk show host Ellen DeGeneres replaced Paula Abdul for that season, but left after just one season. On January 11, 2010, Simon Cowell announced that he was leaving the show to pursue introducing his show The X Factor to the USA for 2011. Kara DioGuardi also left the show on September 3, 2010 after two seasons. On September 22, 2010, it was announced that Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler would join the judging panel.
Guest judges may occasionally be introduced. In season two guest judges such as Lionel Richie and Robin Gibb were used from the Top 12 to Top 4. In season three Donna Summer, Quentin Tarantino and some of the mentors also joined as judges to critique the performances in the final rounds. Guest judges were used in the audition rounds for seasons four, six and nine, such as Gene Simmons and LL Cool J in season four, Jewel and Olivia Newton-John in season six, Neil Patrick Harris and Shania Twain in season nine.
The first season was presented by Ryan Seacrest and Brian Dunkleman. Dunkleman quit after the first season but would have been fired had he not left,[19] and Ryan Seacrest has presented the show alone since. Source: Wikipedia.

The Office: An American Workplace Season 7 Episode 16

The Office: An American Workplace Season 7 Episode 16 can be watched on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 9:00pm EST on WNBC (NBC) TV channel.
Title of the brand new episode is: PDA. Synopsis of the episode is: Public displays of affection between Holly and Michael make everyone uncomfortable; Jim and Pam experience the aftermath of a bottomless champagne lunch; Andy tags along on Erin's romantic treasure hunt.
The Office is an American comedy television series broadcast by NBC. An adaptation of the BBC series The Office, it depicts the everyday lives of office employees in the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. To simulate the look of an actual documentary, it is filmed in a single-camera setup, without a studio audience or a laugh track.
The Office was adapted for American audiences by executive producer Greg Daniels, a veteran writer for Saturday Night Live, King of the Hill and The Simpsons. The creators of the original BBC series, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are executive producers and also co-wrote the pilot episode with Daniels and wrote the season three episode, "The Convict". It is co-produced by Daniels's Deedle-Dee Productions, and Reveille Productions, in association with Universal Media Studios. The show debuted on NBC as a midseason replacement on March 24, 2005.
Off-network syndication of The Office began in late 2009, notably on TBS and Fox-owned stations in the United States.
The Office was renewed for a seventh season, and Steve Carell confirmed he will be leaving the show when his contract expires at the end of its production.
The Office is a mockumentary. The primary vehicle for the show is that a camera crew has decided to film Dunder Mifflin and its employees, seemingly around the clock. The presence of the camera is acknowledged by the characters, especially Michael Scott, who enthusiastically participates in the filming. Others, for example Jan Levinson, are frequently annoyed or uncomfortable at its presence. The main action of the show is supplemented with talking-head interviews or "confessionals", with the characters speaking one on one with the camera crew about the day's events. Sometimes two characters share an interview, speaking with each other and the camera at the same time. This occurs most notably with Jim and Pam, or, occasionally, Oscar and Kevin or Kelly and Ryan, Jim and Dwight, and once, Michael and Toby. Dwight frequently interrupts Michael's interviews, as he is often standing off-screen next to Michael as the interview begins. Some characters use the camera's presence to their advantage. For example, in "Christmas Party", Phyllis's boyfriend Bob Vance introduces himself repeatedly as "Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration" to garner publicity for his business. In other instances, the camera seemingly has affected plot lines. In "The Dundies", a drunken Pam nearly confesses something to Jim, but shies away when she realizes the camera is still there. In "E-mail Surveillance", Pam asks the crew to help her look for evidence of Dwight and Angela's secret relationship, which they later provide.
In early episodes, the camera crews seemed confined primarily to the office setting, but as the show has expanded to include more about the characters' personal lives, the cameras have taken on an often-omnipresent, even intrusive persona. Characters are often followed out of the office and sometimes even to their homes. The cameras were present at Jim's barbecue and Michael's dinner party, and even when Jim and Pam left for an overnight getaway to Dwight's beet farm—all arguably personal, not work-related, events. Behind-doors conversations are often filmed through a window or crack in the door. It is shown in "The Injury" that Michael is wearing a wireless lavalier microphone, which could explain why the cameras are often able to hear closed-door conversations. The cameras have caught Jan kissing Michael on "Valentine's Day", much to Jan's chagrin, and, as mentioned above, revealed both Dwight and Angela's, and Jim and Pam's personal relationships. Non-primary characters or extras who encounter the camera crew are usually unsurprised or unaffected by it, and the cameras were even allowed into Michael, Jim, and Karen's job interviews for a corporate position. A scene is also featured where Michael and Holly are seen sneaking back into the office to have sex, and although they had previously tricked the cameras into being stuck outside, their conversation and interactions with each other are still heard due to a microphone that Michael is wearing (he accidentally increases the volume on it instead of turning it off).
