Stallone to launch men’s lifestyle brand

Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone is to design his own men’s lifestyle brand, Sly Inc., which will be launched next year.
The 64-year-old actor famed for his action roles in the ‘Rocky’ and ‘Rambo’ movies has teamed up with beauty and retail executive Michael Henry and other unidentified financial backers to create Sly Inc., reports contactmusic.com.
‘I thought the time is now. I’ve lived a life where I know what has worked and what hasn’t worked. Clothing is the first step to building a character,’ he said.
The range will first feature jeans, shirts, outerwear, underwear and watches, followed by eyewear, grooming products, fragrance and athletic shoes.
The target customer will be men aged between 25 and 40.
Stallone says he wants the range to appeal to a broad base of customers.
‘I pay a great deal of attention to the way I dress. When men learn to put things together, they start taking care of themselves better,’ he said.

Actress Kate Hudson’s style icon is Kate Moss

‘I loved Julie Christie and I have a massive crush on Anita Pallenberg and her style. I think Kate Moss has that ability to be able to wear anything,’ Hudson told Look Magazine.
The 31-year-old actress also admitted that her son Ryder is her biggest critic when it comes to fashion, reports femalefirst.co.uk
‘Oh my gosh, he’s my biggest critic, always asking: ‘What is that?’ I always know when he likes it when he sees me and he doesn’t say anything and he gets kind of flushed. I go, ‘Uh-oh. That means you like it!’ Hudson said.

Thriller ‘Limitless’ tops lackluster box office

Thriller “Limitless” topped North American box offices with $19 million in ticket sale over a lackluster weekend that continued Hollywood’s losing streak versus last year.
The movie, in which Bradley Cooper portrays a man who is able to exponentially increase his brainpower by taking a drug, beat animated family film “Rango,” which maintained the No. 2 spot in its third weekend in theaters with $15.3 million, according to studio estimates on Sunday.
Rounding out the top three was last week’s No. 1, alien invasion flick “Battle: Los Angeles,” which saw its box office slide nearly 60 percent from last weekend to $14.6 million.
The weekend’s two other new films were drama “The Lincoln Lawyer,” which claimed the No. 4 spot with $13.4 million, and road trip comedy “Paul,” rounding out the top 5 at just under $13.2 million.
Overall ticket sales in the United States and Canada were down roughly 10 percent from the same weekend one year ago, and it was the fourth straight weekend of a decline at box offices versus 2010, according to tracker Hollywood.com Box Office.
Year-to-date ticket sales are off 20 percent and attendance in theaters is down 21 percent against last year when “Avatar” and “Alice in Wonderland” captured moviegoers’ imaginations.
Box offices have been in the doldrums since November 2010, but Hollywood hopes that will change when its summer movie season starts in early May with a series of big-budget flicks.
“The first quarter of 2011 has been one we’d like to forget with comparisons to last year making things tough, week after week,” said Hollywood.com president Paul Dergarabedian. “Luckily help is on the way with a potentially huge and record breaking summer season.”
Where this past weekend was concerned, Relativity Media was happy with the $19 million mustered by “Limitless,” given that pre-weekend forecasting had all three of the weekend’s new releases opening in the mid-teen’s.
“To be in the high-teens and closer to $20 (million) was a pleasant surprise,” said Kyle Davies, president of theatrical distribution for closely-held Relativity. He said the movie played broadly across all age groups.
Similarly, Lions Gate distribution head David Spitz had expected an opening in the $10 million to $12 million range for adult-oriented legal drama “The Lincoln Lawyer,” starring Matthew McConaughey. Spitz said the movie enjoyed good scores from audience polling, and given its appeal to older audiences, should enjoy a “nice long run in theaters.”
Family-oriented animated comedy “Rango,” in which Johnny Depp voices the role of a chameleon cowboy, continued to surprise box office watchers with its hold on second place with only a 32 percent drop in ticket sales from last weekend. It now has accumulated $92.6 million in three weeks.
At the opposite end of the spectrum is Disney’s animated “Mars Needs Moms!” which at a reported cost of $150 million has been an expensive flop. In its second weekend, it dropped to No. 8 on box office charts from a debut at No. 5, and now has only $15.4 million in total ticket sales.
“Limitless” was released by closely held Relativity Media, “Rango” by Paramount Pictures, a unit of Viacom Inc, and “Battle: Los Angeles” by Columbia Pictures, a part of the media division of giant Sony Corp. “The Lincoln Lawyer” was distributed by Lions Gate, and “Paul” by Universal Pictures, which is controlled by Comcast Corp.

Ex-Bollywood star Tania Zaetta arrested in Oz nightclub

Former Bollywood actress Tania Zaetta, whose dominance in the Indian film industry came to a swift end in 2008, will reportedly face court early next month after being arrested at a Gold Coast nightclub.
The Australian actress and television host spent several hours in the cells before being processed and given watch house bail, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.
She is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on April 4.
Police, however, refused to divulge her name and said a 41-year-old NSW woman was arrested at a nightclub in Orchid Avenue, Surfers Paradise, and charged with obstructing police and causing a public nuisance.
Her Bollywood ascendancy came to end when a scandal erupted over baseless allegations about her personal conduct while entertaining Australian troops in Afghanistan.
Claims that she had sex with Australian servicemen were leaked in a Defence briefing paper and the ensuing negative publicity tarnished her reputation at home and abroad.

Mel Gibson to start ordered community service soon

Actor Mel Gibson will begin his court ordered community service at a kid’s charity in L.A. soon.
And the ‘Braveheart’ star is already getting support from some of the parents, reports TMZ.
In fact, one set of parents associated with Mending Kids International said they are more than happy to help give the actor a ‘brand new start’ because Gibson has helped fund a life-changing series of operations for their foster son over the past couple of years.
James Nicol said his Ethiopian-born son Berhanu was only able to undergo an expensive series of medical procedures to help fix severe spinal issues because of the actor’s generosity.
Nicol said his family is still active with the organization and they are excited for any assistance Gibson can provide despite the fact his community service is the result of a plea deal in a domestic violence case.
“If Mel was coming over to our house to play ball with my son, I would not be the least bit concerned,” said Nicol, adding he completely trusts the actor around his child.

Comic Stan Laurel’s childhood home up for grabs

The home where comic Stan Laurel once lived will be auctioned later this month.
The two-bedroom property in Bishop Auckland where Laurel, one half of duo Laurel and Hardy, lived with his thespian parents when he was a baby, is up for auction through Keith Pattinson estate agents, reports the Daily Express.
Bids for the unoccupied house start at 40,000 pounds.
Although Laurel was born in Cumbria, he spent much of his childhood in Bishop Auckland and was educated at King James Grammar School, in the town.
There is a blue commemorative plaque above the front door of the mid-terraced house, which reads: ‘Stan Laurel (Arthur Stanley Jefferson) of Laurel and Hardy lived in this house with his parents. He was baptised in St Peter’s Church on 21st October 1891’. A spokeswoman for the estate agents said she hoped the property would attract Laurel and Hardy fans.
The auction will take place at the Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club ground on March 29.

Filming starts, at last, on much-delayed “Hobbit” movies

Filming began on Monday on the long-awaited “Hobbit” movies, ending years of delay due to funding problems and a labour dispute which nearly saw the project shifted out of New Zealand.
The two films are being directed by New Zealand native Peter Jackson, 49, who made the hit Oscar-winning “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.
Filming will take place at Stone Street Studios in Wellington and at a number of locations around New Zealand, with the exact whereabouts a closely guarded secret.
The first of the two movies will be released in December 2012 and the second is expected a year later.
The movies have been beset by a succession of problems, most notably the threat last year by Time Warner Inc unit Warner Bros. to move production overseas because of fears unions would impose a boycott to back demands for a collective contract.
The government last year changed labour laws to keep the estimated $500 million production and increased tax breaks for Warner Bros, citing the damage that might be done to the country’s small film industry.
Before that, issues around the funding of the films saw original director Guillermo Del Toro quit in 2010.
The final challenge came from Jackson’s hospitalisation earlier this year for emergency surgery for a perforated ulcer.
“The Hobbit” is based on the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit who lives in the land of Middle-earth and goes on a quest to find treasure guarded by a dragon.
The book, first published in 1937, is the precursor to the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, which also takes place in Middle-earth.
The cast for the movies includes Oscar winner Cate Blanchett, Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom, Ken Stott and Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins.

Kate Middleton gets Jaguar fleet for wedding ceremony

Kate Middleton has been given a 500,000-pound fleet of luxury cars so that she gets to the church on time for her wedding, after the British royal bride said she does not want to arrive in a horse-drawn carriage.
Palace officials have taken -delivery of seven new Jaguar XJ limos for the wedding scheduled for April 29, the Daily Star reported.
The British-made cars were dispatched from the company earlier this month.
Kate had said she does not want to arrive at the Westminster Abbey in a traditional horse-drawn carriage.
Palace officials said the royal Rolls-Royces and Bentleys would be ‘too stuffy’ for her and her groom, Prince William.
‘When the Prince of Wales was attacked by students in his Rolls-Royce, it sent a message out about what people think is acceptable,’ an aide said.

Wolverhampton v Tottenham Premier League Match on March 6

Football Match: Wolverhampton v Tottenham
Venue: Molineux
Date: Sunday, 6 March
Kick-off: 1600 GMT
Coverage: Watch live on Sky Sports 1 and highlights on Match of the Day 2; listen on BBC Radio 5 live and local radio; text commentary on BBC Sport website and mobiles.
Wolves midfielder Jamie O'Hara is ineligible to play against his parent club under the terms of his loan.
Steven Mouyokolo and Ronald Zubar are ruled out with injury while Dave Edwards and Dave Jones are doubts, but Stephen Hunt is fit again.
Tottenham pair Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart remain unavailable but hope to return for the Champions League tie against AC Milan in midweek.
Ledley King is training again after a groin injury but is unlikely to play.
The season's ambition of these clubs differ greatly, but their sorrow will be shared ahead of kick-off when they honour the memory of Dean Richards.
Richards, who played as a defender for both clubs, died last weekend aged 36 after a long illness. He became a firm favourite at Wolves following his move from Bradford in 1995, playing 145 games before joining Southampton. He signed for Tottenham in 2001 for £8.1m - a then-record fee for an uncapped English player - and made 81 appearances for the club before being forced to retire as he was suffering from dizzy spells and headaches.
Richards' wife and two sons are due to attend Sunday's game, and a representative from each of his four former clubs will hold aloft their team's shirt in the centre circle prior to a minute's applause before kick-off.
The game itself is an opportunity for Wolves to climb out of the relegation zone, and for Tottenham to bolster their chances of a top-four finish and Champions League qualification. Spurs will be playing for the first time in 12 days since a 3-1 defeat at Blackpool, who Wolves thrashed 4-0 last weekend to move off the bottom.

Liverpool v Man Utd Premier League Match on March 6

Football Match: Liverpool v Man Utd
Venue: Anfield
Date: Sunday, 6 March
Kick-off: 1330 GMT
Coverage: Watch live on Sky Sports 1 and highlights on Match of the Day 2; listen to live coverage on talkSPORT and full match commentary on BBC Radio Merseyside, with updates on BBC Radio 5 Live; text commentary on BBC Sport website and mobiles.
Liverpool's club record signing Andy Carroll has trained since Wednesday and is being considered for his debut after overcoming a thigh injury.
Martin Kelly is out for a month with a torn hamstring, but Raul Meireles should recover from a knee problem.
Wes Brown is expected to partner Chris Smalling in Manchester United's defence, with Nemanja Vidic banned and Rio Ferdinand unlikely to be fit.
Ryan Giggs is poised to make a club record 607th league appearance.
Sir Alex Ferguson has long since achieved his stated mission to knock Liverpool off their perch, but defeat at Anfield would leave the United manager spitting more feathers.
He faces a touchline ban after being charged for his outspoken criticism of referee Martin Atkinson in the wake of the midweek defeat at Chelsea. What would bother Ferguson far more is if his team's advantage in the title race is eroded on Sunday.
Tensions between Liverpool and Manchester originate from a battle for the lucrative cotton trade in the 19th century, and the hostility remains undiminished when the two most decorated football clubs in England go head-to-head. In the build up to this match, Kenny Dalglish responded to the prospect of United overtaking Liverpool's record of league titles by pointing out that the Anfield club still have the edge because they have won more European Cups.
Liverpool, of course, have not dominated the domestic scene since 1990, when Dalglish was first in charge. He quit the following February, and United have gone on to be 11-time champions under Ferguson's guidance.
Although this has been an unequal rivalry in the Premier League era, Liverpool have been rejuvenated by the return of Dalglish for a second spell as manager. He has been in opposition with Ferguson since their playing days in Glasgow, and will relish the opportunity to clip United's wings.

St Mirren v Rangers Scottish Premier League Match on March 6

Football Match: St Mirren v Rangers
Venue: St Mirren Park
Date: Sunday 6 March
Kick-off: 1245 GMT
Coverage: BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Sport website
St Mirren forward Paul McGowan returns from suspension and defender Lee Mair is fit following illness.
David Barron, Paul McQuade, Gareth Wardlaw and Nick Hegarty are still out but are all closing in on a comeback.
Rangers defender Sasa Papac is ruled out with a head knock sustained during Wednesday's fiery Old Firm clash.
Kyle Lafferty is banned, while Nikica Jelavic, Jamie Ness and Steven Naismith join longer-term casualties Kirk Broadfoot and Lee McCulloch.
St Mirren manager Danny Lennon: "I certainly know that you've got to respect every opposition but what you can't do is give them too much respect.
"We know we've got to get in about them.
"I was asked the question 'will you go and park the bus?'. You defend when you've got to defend but we are certainly not a team that goes out to line up in defence.
"I feel that any time we try to hold on to something that we are at our most vulnerable. We have got to make sure we keep to our strengths."
Rangers manager Walter Smith: "St Mirren have been very well organised this season and have had some good results this season so we expect a tough game.
"We had a difficult enough game there earlier in the season and we have an injury situation just now that we have to overcome.
"We had seven players missing on Wednesday and we will probably have to add Sasa Papac to that list.
"Sasa was unconscious and will have to see the doctor. Having had a head knock earlier in the season, that will be a factor."

Celtic coach Alan Thompson: "We want to get back to winning ways after a defeat in the league last Sunday to Motherwell.
"We'll be going all guns blazing in a good manner to try and get three points.
"After a lot of energy expended and a big win against Rangers in midweek we have to approach the game in the right manner.
"We're in three domestic trophies, but first and foremost we'll be concentrating on getting three points against Hamilton."
Motherwell manager Stuart McCall: "It's not a game we are expected to win - it's top versus bottom.
"But the one thing I can guarantee is that we will take the ball and try to pass it.
"You have to be brave and I mean taking the ball in all areas of the park and not worrying if you make a mistake.
"But we won't get too many chance so if we get them we have to take them.

Kilmarnock's Momo Sissoko is suspended for the trip to Edinburgh.
Goalkeeper Cammy Bell is still out with an ankle injury and midfielder Mehdi Taouil could be missing for a month with a hamstring problem.
Hearts manager Jim Jefferies: "I think this one on Saturday could go a long way to cementing third place, but it will not be easy.
"We want to get third place tied up and there's one club - no disrespect to the others - I want to finish fourth.
"They would deserve that because they've been great to watch this year."
Kilmarnock manager Mixu Paatelainen: "I think it is almost impossible to catch them in third place because of their quality.
"They will challenge the Old Firm all the way, if they don't catch them they will be comfortably third.
"I'm sure that is their target for the season and it is looking very likely that they will achieve that.
"We are battling for a top-six spot. It is very tight.
Teams
Hearts: Kello, Bouzid, Zaliukas, Stevenson, Driver, Elliott, Skacel, Glen, Jonsson, Mrowiec, C Thomson, Wallace, J Thomson, Santana, Balogh, Webster, Barr, Templeton, MacDonald, Obua.

Motherwell captain Stephen Craigan returns from suspension and Steven Saunders is also in contention following a hamstring problem.
Steve Jones is training again after an injury but will not make the trip.
Inverness forward Richie Foran: "Motherwell is a club that's close to my heart, I had some great times and some of my best football memories there, but I'll be looking for three points.
"They are a very good footballing side, they got a huge boost after beating Celtic. I watched the highlights and they beat them well, it was a well-deserved three points.
"They beat us up here too so I'm hoping they can be a little complacent coming up here and we can get at them from the first whistle."
Motherwell wide player Tom Hateley:
"Perhaps we are not consistent enough, we got beaten and then beat Celtic.
"We did well on the day and we have to do well again to beat Inverness.
"We've got a run of five or six big games, there are so many teams in contention for the top six.
"If we can carry on the momentum from the other day and get that consistency, we have the belief that we can go anywhere and win."

Graham Stack is out with a shoulder injury and Divis is vying for a place with Graeme Smith and Mark Brown.
St Johnstone manager Derek McInnes: "It's a big ask and they have done well lately. We know they are coming here with that added ingredient of confidence and belief, which is always important to any team.
"The fact that they are coming here on such good form makes them more difficult but we plan to be difficult opponents ourselves."
Hibernian manager Colin Calderwood: "We've got three away fixtures in a row - we started with a victory at Hamilton and we'll need to do it again.
"To keep up with the teams around about us we're going to have to win and that's the intention."

Birmingham v West Brom Barclays Premier League Match on March 5

Venue: St Andrew's Date: Saturday, 5 March Kick-off: 1245 GMT
Coverage: Watch live on Sky Sports 2 and highlights on Match of the Day; listen on BBC Radio 5 live and local radio; text commentary on BBC Sport website and mobiles.
Birmingham pair Barry Ferguson and Craig Gardner are major doubts after suffering a fractured rib and dead leg respectively in the Carling Cup final.
Defender Roger Johnson was visibly struggling with a calf injury during that game but is fit again.
West Brom's Graham Dorrans suffered an ankle injury in training on Friday and is a major doubt for Saturday.
But Peter Odemwingie has recovered from an ankle injury he picked up against Stoke and should be fit.
Birmingham doubtful: Ferguson (rib), Gardner (dead leg), injured/unavailable: Dann (hamstring), McFadden (knee), Valles (foot)
West Brom doubtful: Dorrans
St Andrew's welcomes home its conquering heroes as Alex McLeish's Birmingham City side return to the field for the first time since their historic Carling Cup triumph.
But the victory parade has been put on hold until Sunday, as attention turns from celebration to relegation and a derby date with West Midlands rivals West Brom.
Both sides are scrapping for top-flight survival and will see victory in this fixture as the perfect launch pad for the relegation run-in. Successive 1-1 draws with Wolves and Stoke have kept West Brom out of the bottom three, and new boss Roy Hodgson has already brought a more solid look to a side that had shipped 51 goals in 26 league games before he took charge.
Birmingham's biggest concern is at the other end of the pitch, and McLeish may be tempted to pair a rejuvenated Nikola Zigic with Wembley hero Obafemi Martins to help transform Blues' status as the division's lowest scorers.
A win over their local rivals would add to the feelgood factor and potentially lift Blues five points clear of trouble. Then the weekend's celebrations can resume.
Head-to-head
West Brom's only win in their last five league matches against Birmingham was 3-1 at the Hawthorns earlier this season.
Eight of the nine goals West Brom have scored against Birmingham in the Premier League have come in the second half.
Birmingham:
Birmingham are the division's lowest scorers with 25 goals. According to Opta stats, they have fired in just 87 shots on target this season, fewer than any other side in the division.
Along with Blackburn's Ewood Park, St Andrew's has seen the fewest number of goals scored in the Premier League this season (28).
The Blues have lost just three of their last 29 Premier League games at St Andrew's.
Both Barry Ferguson and loanee Matt Derbyshire could make their 100th English league appearances.
West Brom:
The Baggies have drawn four of their last five Premier League matches and the last three in a row.
They have gone a club record 26 Premier League games without a clean sheet. Their only clean sheet this season came in the second game of the campaign, a 1-0 home win over Sunderland.
Roy Hodgson has won just one of his last 28 away matches as a Premier League coach.
Carlos Vela has scored in his last two games for West Brom, earning a point in each instance.

Secret Diary of a Call Girl British television drama

Secret Diary of a Call Girl is a British television drama broadcast on ITV2 based on the blog and books by the pseudonymous "Belle de Jour," starring Billie Piper as Belle, a high-class London-based call girl. The series was written by Lucy Prebble, who is also known as the author of The Sugar Syndrome and ENRON. The series has been compared to Sex and the City by many critics, mainly due to its humorous approach to sex.
The rights to the blog were bought by Silverapples Media (Avril MacRory and Paul Duane), who co-produced the series with Tiger Aspect Productions. The series was initially developed with Channel 4 and when Channel 4 passed on the project, ITV took over. The series airs in a late-night 10pm slot, as part of ITV2's "XXL Thursday" programming block.
The theme song for the first two series was an excerpt of "You Know I'm No Good" by Amy Winehouse, followed in the third series by a fully instrumental version. The theme tune for the fourth series is Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps, a cover by Doris Day, as the official song is by Cake. The song runs whilst the intertitle plays, showing Belle applying make-up and getting dressed, interspersed with shots of urban London.
The series, set in London, revolves around the life of Hannah Baxter (Billie Piper), a seemingly normal woman, who lives a secret life as a call girl, under the pseudonym Belle. The series focuses on her professional and private life and its complications as they collide. However, she receives help and advice from her best friend Ben (Iddo Goldberg), in most situations. Upon the introduction of fellow call girl Bambi (Ashley Madekwe) in the second series premiere, Hannah had become close friends with her, giving her advice regarding prostitution.
Hannah, as the main character also narrates the series, sometimes through voiceovers but more frequently she breaks the fourth wall and speaks directly to the audience. During the first series the episodes are held together by a light story arc, however Series 2 and 3 have relied heavily on a story arc, usually in the form of Hannah's romances, namely Alex and Duncan.
Hannah is a university graduate living in London and – unbeknownst to her family – is also the high class call girl known as "Belle". Hannah is well educated, very eloquent and intelligent. She has expensive tastes and is at times slightly snobbish. She loves her job as a call girl as she is being paid handsomely to do something she does very well. She comes from an average middle-class family who live outside of London; she's close to her father but remains somewhat distant from her older sister who is married with an infant son. Hannah reveals she has tried several professions but struggles to keep down a steady job (as revealed in series two). Hannah is an expert at leading a double life, and is a meticulous planner – her specialty is role-playing fantasies. Hannah is a self-employed call girl, having left Stephanie's agency during the stories run.
